Barley flour is made from whole barley grains that have been ground into a fine powder. It is often used as a healthier alternative to wheat flour, as it has a lower glycemic index and is high in fiber and other nutrients.
Our Barley Flour is non-diastatic and can be used alone to make barley bread or it can be mixed with other flours in order to make a multi-grain bread. Its addition to regular whole wheat flour can make for a darker colored bread and nuttier and more hardy flavor.
