Having cut his teeth with Cynic, Defeated Sanity, and as frontman of the "Death To All" touring tribute to Chuck Shuldiner, it™s safe to say that Max Phelps, founder of Exist, has proven himself a more than capable performer in the progressive death metal world.
Phelps formed Exist back in the late ˜00s releasing the "In Mirrors EP" in 2010 and following it up with the band™s debut full-length, "Sunlight" in 2013 . The began recording new material in 2016 and got in touch with Prosthetic Records, who signed Exist immediately.
So True, So Bound, Exists™ debut album for Prosthetic, is a concept album that takes a look at how language and concrete definitions create societal rules and guidelines. It™s a fitting subject in today™s quick to judge and dismiss world where a lot of communication is done through 140 characters.

Minneapolis dwellers Cole Benson, Chad Padelford and Tim Leick first got together in 2013 playing instrumental post rock. It wasn™t long after that the three™s influences of Eyehategod and the Melvins, Boris and Tool & Evoken and Mournful Congratulation began to manifest naturally through their music creating a more sonically cathartic endeavor.
By Fall of 2016, the band began work on their debut album, Beneath This Shroud, The Earth Erodes. The political climate of that time, combined with various struggles each member had, helped create and extremely dark, extremely moody and heavy and angry sounding album. Bassist, Chad Padelford remarks, œwhile each of us dealt with personal strife and success we found solace coming together to spill out what we had bottled up.

Formed in 2009, the Swiss group SCHAMMASCH combines a forward approach to modern black metal, articulating their extreme roots with doom-laden atmospherics dredged with Hermetic mysticism.
